Welcome to Bayworld, Nelson Mandela Bay
One of the leading tourist attractions in Nelson Mandela Bay, Bayworld is unique in Southern Africa, embracing a natural and cultural history Museum combined with a Snake Park and Oceanarium, and a house museum at No. 7 Castle Hill. It is located in the heart of the Port Elizabeth beachfront and serves up a feast of edutainment to hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
The main activities of the Complex are research and education aimed at stimulating a greater awareness of the need for conservation of South Africa’s natural and cultural heritage. Research and education programmes focus on marine life, reptiles, maritime and local history.
In terms of the Eskom schedule, we will be experiencing load shedding. When we experience load shedding our operations will be temporarily suspended for that period until the electricity is back. Please check the load shedding app for our group 5, Area 8
No member of the public is allowed to enter the complex for Health and Safety reasons.

PARKING AREA AT BAYWORLD
Please note that part of the visitors parking area will be utilized by the appointed engineering company as their site office as they will be over seeing the relocation of the animals as well as the demolition of the Oceanarium. This is an interim arrangement until the project is complete and we apologize profusely for any inconvenience caused.
